Jon C. Kennedy

  Jon Kennedy is the lead instructor and President/CEO of Kennedy Consulting. He has spent several years developing and sharpening his skills through education, hands on instruction and advanced training, to build specific skill for assisting his students in safely developing the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the practical efficient handling of firearms. He is also a Federal Firearms Dealer  (FFL) and licensed in the state of California. Some of Mr. Kennedy’s education and experience include:   CERTIFIED NRA INSTRUCTOR/TRAINING COUNCELOR – Mr. Kennedy is registered with the National Rifle Association as a Certified Training counselor and instructor. As an NRA Training Counselor, Mr. Kennedy is certified to instruct both students, and student instructor candidates, in several disciplines - Basic Pistol Shooting; Advanced Pistol Shooting; Basic Rifle Shooting; Basic Shotgun Shooting; Basic Personal Protection in the Home; Basic Personal Protection Outside the Home; since 11/30/2010. NRA Instructor # 155393046. Responsibilities include education and instruction to develop the proper knowledge, skills and attitude required for the safe handling of firearms in the home and community.   CERTIFIED NRA CHIEF RANGE SAFETY OFFICER – Mr. Kennedy is also certified by the National Rifle Association as a Chief Range Safety Officer – responsibilities include general Range Safety Officer duties; teaching and instruction of potential Range Safety Officers; Development and implementation of shooting ranges and Range Standard Operating Procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures Manual; Supervision and management of range operations.    CALIFORNIA HANDGUN SAFETY CERTIFICATION INSTRUCTOR – Mr. Kennedy is certified with the State of California, Department of Justice, Bureau of Firearms, as a certified Instructor. Instructor #108639. Responsibilities include proctoring required Handgun Safety (HSC) test. Handgun safety declarations at firearms purchase. Certified CCW instruction and testing for El Dorado County, Napa County, Placer County, Sacramento County, Solono County and Sutter County.   UTAH CCW INSTRUCTOR – Mr. Kennedy is also currently certified with the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification, Utah Department of Public Safety, as a Concealed Carry Weapons Instructor, and attends the required certification/recertification program every 2 years as set forth by the Utah Department of Public Safety. – 01/27/2011. Permit #I102388. BCI. This is a multi-state CCW, currently recognized in 35 states.   Mr. Kennedy is a First Family Executive Plus Life Member and Director of Front Sight Shooting Academy, at Front Sight, Nevada, near Las Vegas, and trains there with members of his staff several times each year. He has also taken several student groups for continued training.    Mr. Kennedy has spent several years involved with, and teaching youth in the Boy Scouts of America programs, is currently a merit badge councilor in Archery, Rifle, Shotgun Shooting, Dog Care, Water Sports, and holds several certifications such as Youth Protection, Trek Safety, Climb on Safely, Swim Defense, Safety Afloat, and others.   Mr. Kennedy has an Associate’s Degree in Systems Administration from MTI, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Management from the University of Phoenix.     Together, with his wife Sheryl (who has several firearms certifications of her own), Mr. Kennedy, his family and staff, are avid defenders of the Constitution of the United States, in particular, the Second Amendment. He also currently serves as a Member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 31, Division 3, District 11.     �

Sheryl Kennedy

 Sheryl has been working actively with Kennedy Consulting since 2008. She is currently Manager and Program Director for the Education and Training Division. Sheryl is certified by the NRA as a Chief Range Safety Officer and has been involved in the development of Standard Operating Procedures for various ranges in the Sacramento area. She is a seasoned instructor and Certified by the NRA in several disciplines, including Basic Pistol Shooting, Basic Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting, Personal Protection in the Home, as well as Personal Protection outside the home. Sheryl is certified in the NRA Refuse to Be a Victim program, and is the lead Clinic Director for Kennedy Consulting. She is an Ambassador Life Member of Front Sight Shooting Academy, as are all of our instructors here at Kennedy Consulting, and trains there at least twice a year. Sheryl comes from a military family. Having served in the Marine Corp for over 22 years, her father was a strong supporter and defender of our second amendment rights, and involved his family in the shooting sports at a young age. Having grown up around guns, Sheryl has an appreciation and respect for the value and care needed to effectively and safely own and operate a wide range of firearms. Sheryl has worked with the public for most of her professional life and loves the interaction and friendships that she has developed over the years, especially those that she has taught and trained over the years. Sheryl coordinates our training outings each year to world class training facilities and always includes an invitation to friends and associates that have trained with us.
